• The Lodge

    Trianon par Claire Adelfang

An invitation to travel back in time, to the land of kings and queens! A lodge with a nod to our Châteaux region through the artist’s magnificent prints taken at the Hameau de la Reine in Versailles. A lodge with tons and soft materials for delicate nights and dreams, like Claire’s view of historical heritage. The discreet and careful decoration, in pink and peacock velvet and golden brass, the terrace equipped with a jacuzzi AND a sauna offer you physical and mental comfort for a unique experience in the heart of wild nature.

“Light, osmosis with the forest, transparency, space” inspired the design of our 18 lodges. Built on stilts, from wood species present in the surrounding forest – douglas, chestnut, oak – our lodges are real, warm and cosy suites. Their large windows and open terraces, equipped with a private spa, promote an harmonious dialogue between the interiors and the forest. And for the final touch, each lodge has been designed by a contemporary artist.

Walk or not

Walking is the best way to get around and explore our forest and the woods that surround it (the W.H.O recommends 10,000 steps a day to be healthier!). However, electric carts are provided for ease of travel, in case of necessity or a momentary lack of energy… here everything is allowed.

Interview

Claire Adelfang

Photograph

Tell us what motivated you to join this project, how did you draw inspiration from the space and the nature around it ?

The idea of gaining height to look at nature and the space of the lodge immediately interested me. The absence of boundaries between interior and exterior allows for a real dive into the heart of the forest, which resonates with my photographic work. By choosing to place photographs of the Hameau de la Reine, from my various series on Versailles, in the “Trianon” lodge, it is echoing the atmosphere that Marie-Antoinette wanted when creating the Hameau de la Reine estate. Nature, rusticity and beauty mingle voluptuously here.

How did you chose the work of art that dress the Lodge ?

By choosing to place photographs of the Hameau de la Reine, from my various series on Versailles, in the “Trianon” lodge, it is echoing the atmosphere that Marie-Antoinette wanted when creating the Hameau de la Reine estate. Nature, rusticity and beauty mingle voluptuously here.

Biography

A multitude of canvases that compose a work around a common trunk that is the Nile in which flows water, vital... as a multitude of leaves that compose a tree around a trunk, in which circulates sap, vital...

Claire Adelfang received her training at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux‐Arts de Paris, from which she graduated in 2010. Her photographs and videos were discovered by the public during exhibitions produced by the association Les amis des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2010 and 2011 following the prizes she won (agnès b prize in 2009 and Thaddaeus Ropac prize in 2010).

His work has been exhibited in several public and private institutions including the Bernard Margrez Cultural Institute, the Palais de Tokyo, the Mac Val, the European House of Photography, the Tours Opera. In 2016, the Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Orléans dedicated his first solo exhibition to him in a museum. In 2018, the Château de Versailles invited her to exhibit her series on the Queen’s Hameau in the rooms of the Petit Trianon. She was notably nominated for the 2013 Meurice Prize, the 2013 MasterCard Prize, the BMW Art Makers Prize in 2021 and one of her videos was part of the 2013 Nuit Blanche program in Paris in the form of an installation within the Louvre Oratory.
