    JungOne by JonOne

Loire Valley Lodges gave a free rein to JonOne to sign his lodge with his tubes of acrylic paint. You will be transported into the world of this graffiti artist, from the darkness of the Harlem of his childhood to the colorful writings of his latest years. From floor to ceiling, on all surfaces, JonOne carries you away in his artistic world, in his urban jungle, which he named JungOne !

“Light, osmosis with the forest, transparency, space” inspired the design of our 18 lodges. Built on stilts, from wood species present in the surrounding forest – douglas, chestnut, oak – our lodges are real, warm and cosy suites. Their large windows and open terraces, equipped with a private spa, promote an harmonious dialogue between the interiors and the forest. And for the final touch, each lodge has been designed by a contemporary artist.

Walk or not

Walking is the best way to get around and explore our forest and the woods that surround it (the W.H.O recommends 10,000 steps a day to be healthier!). However, electric carts are provided for ease of travel, in case of necessity or a momentary lack of energy… here everything is allowed.

Biography

The color appears as the vital load of JonOne, his palette is rich and bright, the tones and the contrasts reveal subtle shades games. In a harmonious composition which seems as well spontaneous as measured, the forms tie and untie, wave or stay straight. There are symmetry and asymmetry, repetition and unification, the line is mastered with precision and flexibility. Each of his canvas is an abstract improvisation of whom the brightness give a love of life.

John Andrew Perello, nicknamed JonOne, is a graffiti artist who was born in 1963 in New York City. Also known as Jon156, he now lives and works in Paris.

At the age of 17, he was introduced to street art with his childhood friend White Man by tagging his own name on the walls of the New Yorker neighborhood Harlem where is from. As autodidact, he has created abstract works of art influenced by his life story and colors and energy of the city. His very colorful style makes him a special artist.

In 1984, he founded the graffiti artists group 156 All Starz.

Frequenting the emblematic Studio 84, Jon has rubbed shoulders with Jean Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. At Bando’s invitation, he moved to Paris in 1987. The French capital become his “new home” in which he can personally enrich himself. He quickly makes a name for himself on the parisian artistic stage by starting a new quest : canvas, in a studio in “L’Hôpital Éphémère”. He works on different creative projects and exhibits worldwide – from China to Berlin and also Tokyo, Monaco, Geneva or Brussels.

JonOne got his first auction in 1992 during he experienced his world record : big canvas named “Balle de match” for the amount of € 24,800.
